I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Anyone been pining for a semi-post-apocalyptic version of "All I Want For Christmas Is You"?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I am legit so stressed about the enormity of buying a car that I have to take an Ativan and I'm watching Avengers (it's my big comfy blankie movie).

I am ridiculous. But Jesus, I just transferred 5 figures from my savings to my checking, and I almost hyperventilated. It's all just so HUGE.

(You can tell I've never bought a house before. That might make me spontaneously combust.) (And every other car I've bought, I've financed it, so I didn't have to write a giant check of my own money.)

Just remember Teppy, you don't have to buy it tonight. Or tomorrow. I mean, if you do buy it good for you but you don't have to!

I'm a bit sad because I ordered a painting of a friend's dog on etsy (sent in pictures and stuff) and told my friend (it wasn't supposed to be ready until after Christmas) and she was super excited. But the artist just emailed me a copy of her picture and...it's not great. It's ok, but....not really what I pictured. And now I worry my friend will be super disappointed too! :(

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Teppy, buying expensive things makes me wrap myself in quilts and watch tv for a few hours just to stop hyperventilating, too. But it's amazing! You gonna buy a car with cash! You ought'a wear a tiara when you write the check.

What's weird about buying a house is some people spend less time in a house than I do trying on shoes. I think I was in my now house for less than an hour total over two visits before I made an offer.

I also just reupped my mortgage over the phone in a five minute phone call. Maybe I should have thought about it more. (Should I have gone for the variable rate?)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wanting an Ativan while buying a car is not remotely ridiculous.

Bummer, meara.

Totally.

I think rates are low right now and you're better off locking down the fixed rate, Sue? Not sure. I don't like variable rate on principal (principal may be the wrong word, but I don't like it).

Librarian Warlord

I can't parse what's going on

The first of the officers from the Freddy Gray death is on trial, and jury is deliberating.

They keep warning that rates are going to climb, but they keep falling. I am still .20 less than my last interest rate, but variable was .70 less. It doesn't matter, I still have a pretty great interest rate.

True. And in fact, we're taking it to our mechanic so they can look it over, so we won't be buying it tonight at all. But assuming everything is fine with it, we'll likely have a new-to-us car by the weekend.

Loki is not calming me down.

I have, however, done a LOT of laundry and cleaned the kitchen. I'm about to work out to try to burn off some of this ridiculous stress.
