Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'm so frustrated with myself right now. I stopped karate when we moved and haven't picked up another physical activity. As such, I've gained weight and while I have always been heavy, I was comfortable in my skin. Right now, I'm not. Just walked a couple of blocks to the mailbox and back and I'm wheezing. So, I need to be better about my diet and get more walking in, at a minimum, but without sparking my lungs. Which is not so easy in the winter. I hate feeling like a blob.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't with the rest of this, so:

I do not understand the lbd hate. 12 days is the real enemy holiday song.

I am with Jilli!

I was LBDd while out holiday shopping with Dad last night. AND Carol of the Bells, which I possibly hate more thanks to years of choir.

Singing alto? That's why I hate Carol of the Bells -- when we sang it in high school, I had to sing alto, so when I hear the song, I can only hear the one-note alto line. Booooo.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

About 8-9 months ago, I started something called "The Capybara Procedure". The procedure is that whenever an online friend reads a hateful talkback or is engaged with a kind of discussion that leads to severe headdesking with a possible injury, they must publicly post a picture of a capybara and cc me on it.

I forgot to mention, this is great!

At this point, she loses all credibility.

Yeah, I find the Creation Museum twice as ridiculous as Anciet Aliens, but only half as funny. [ht to Stoppard]

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Singing alto?

Ha, no. The altos always had my sympathy for that song, but I was soprano. So we never got to breathe, and had to worry about sounding shrill on those top notes.

My singing voice has deteriorated SO much. I need to find some good vocal exercise apps. I won't get back to my original soprano range, but breath control and staying in key when singing along with stuff would be nice.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Ugh, Calli. I have leprosy related thoughts, but I won't get into it right now. Because I want to turn my computer off, go home, and eat ice cream.

Edited because I meant Little Drummer Boy, not Little Black Dress.

I was just gonna say, all these acronyms totally make me want to put on a LBD

Also, saw a clip of Grace Jones singing LDB on Pee Wee's Playhouse, that might be the best way to lose. Up there with Bing and Bowie, anyway. (I don't hate the song but I am amused by the game (kinda like 12 Days also, although there are too many comedy versions of it that are not as funny as they think they are)

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Appliances always break at the least convenient time. It's a rule.

I would not normally share this story, because it makes me look like an idiot, but it's funny, and I think we need funny.

Got in my car to leave work, and I realized I'd left my phone at my desk. This isn't a huge deal, because I don't really use it that much. But it meant I didn't have my GPS, so it was moderately annoying.

Came home. Changed into pajamas. Found my phone in my bra, where I had stuffed it earlier in the day and then forgotten about it.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

You know that presentation that I was worried about on Monday? Well they've already scored it. We're out. The other 2 companies made it through. I thought we nailed it, at least to the point where we would compete for a piece of the pie.

Yeah, I'm crying.
