Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

You just never know with that shit.

Exactly. We all left the room feeling good about it.

We didn't make it by one fucking point. One. Point.

Nanita, they do, because I pulled out the big guns for this one. Executive Directors and VPs were on the presentation with me. My grandboss just said it's not my fault.

Congrats on the promotion! You absolutely deserve it.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I got LDB'd at my own dinner table when the SO put on an album, but at least it's an excellent version. It's the band whose show we're promoting on the 18th, so I would only have lasted until then anyway.

For vocal stuff, I'm sure there are free apps out there, but I really recommend this book by Anne Peckham, out of Berklee press. It's an excellent self study tool and comes with a cd with the exercises on it, so you can use those.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen
