I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Pitt! Pitt!

I'm three episodes into Pluribus and my viewing companion is not moving fast enough for me.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I should probably not admit this publicly, but I really wish I knew how to bootleg like I used to. I want to watch Pluribus, but I cannot afford another streamer!

On Saturday I did a real time Pitt rewatch with a Discord group (the Discord of the old TWOP people). It was A LOT to watch as a binge. It was really good and fun to chat during it, but that show really benefited from a week between episodes.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oof, yeah, that would be a lot. I started watching after it had started but I could only an episode a day, or a few days, to catch up.

So, I have traditionally only listened to Pop Culture Happy Hour intermittently, or perhaps even occasionally, pretty much only when they were talking about something I already had an opinion on so I could get it reinforced (or be mad about it being contradicted, I guess, but I can’t recall any examples of that) and there hasn’t been a lot of opportunity for that because I spend a lot of time under a rock. But I guess I caught up enough on my other podcasts that PCHH has autoplayed enough to get me interested in what they have to say about stuff I have heard of but haven’t decided if I want to seek out. So, partway into the ep about Starfleet Academy and it sounds pretty fun.

My Star Trek watching has been, shall we say, spotty. I only ever saw TOS in late night syndication, so I’m not certain I’ve seen all the episodes but what I have seen was definitely not in any kind of order and it was a long time ago. TNG I mostly watched by switching to it when it was halfway through after watching the local news (this would have been in the summers when I was home from college, with my mom while making dinner, in between whatever part-time job I had, so also probably incomplete although the way it aired on multiple channels in the area on different schedules may have let me see at least parts if most episodes). DS9 I watched more faithfully, and eventually did binge watch the complete series. Voyager aired on a channel that I got very poor reception on where I was living at the time, and I didn’t have cable, so I saw hardly any of that. Enterprise, weirdly, I watched from start to finish. Discovery I watched the first season but kind of fell off of, and same for Picard. I bought the Lower Decks comics but haven’t read them and haven’t watched any of the show because it always occurred to me that it was an option when I just really didn’t have time - I am very confident I will like it whenn I do get around to it.

Which is all a long-winded way to get to: I unsubscribed from Paramount+ and I’m not sure if I should consider getting it back for Starfleet Academy. Maybe?

But first I will probably watch at least some Bridgerton

Oh honey, the mentally unwell people have been in the fanbase since Game Changers was Stucky fanfiction on the internet. The calls have been coming from inside the house the whole time!

Not having seen the new Academy show, Strange New Worlds is my must-watch recommendation for content after DS9. But I'm only up through the second episode of Season 2, because fuck CBS and their bootlicking. Plenty of time to catch up on shows I like during the next Dem administration if we keep having elections, and if not I'll have more important things to do.

Strange New Worlds! I knew I was forgetting something. Yes, I was about to start watching that when CBS got all stupid, so I haven’t seen it at all.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Strange New Worlds! I knew I was forgetting something.

My favorite.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I'm enjoying Starfleet Academy well enough though growing slightly weary of perpetual Tiny But Powerful White Girl casting (she's so willowy... but she's STRONG! how novel.) particularly in light of Mary Wiseman not being a lead when I thought I was promised she was going to be a lead.

I'm breaking up with Paramount when Colbert goes off the air. I doubt my stance and its accompanying angry letters will change a thing but... its a line I gotta draw.
