He was a very dear friend of mine, from long before he joined the board. We interacted in many different spheres and his presence is still keenly missed in all of them.
ita's thread
A place where we can talk about ita, miss ita, and share information about memorials. The hugging started over here in Natter.
Remembering Ginger on her birthday. I am grateful that she was a part of our life and I do miss her so often.

I was just thinking about her yesterday, as the Braves took the lead in the series, and wishing Mr. Peabody scritches wherever he is.
Glad I got to see her house and her collection of original science fiction/fantasy art going back to her convention organizing days.
Her home was so comfy. And the library!!!
I slept in her library the week of the Atlanta F2F, on an antique daybed--except for the one night I made Sail switch with me to give my back a break. Joy! And the dog. I'm so glad I got to know her. I'm so glad she found us. After her first round of chemo she told me when she didn't feel able to do anything she followed Bitches, and was warmed and heartened by the knowledge other snarky, fun people were having lives and love and silliness and sorrow and...everything. And felt the possibility she would have those things again too. And I've been so grateful she de-lurked and became One of Us for the time we had her company.
I wish Ginger could have seen the Braves win tonight.
Wish DXM could've seen the Dodgers win last year.
Wish ita could have seen Black Panther.
::Nodding:: Holding the rest of you close enough to hurt, a little. Just only a little.
Love to you all.
Memorial birthday today for our dear friend DXM. I think of Ed often and among other moments remember his kindness in offering to talk with my son about chemistry when he was considering that as a career. A warm huggy big brother.
I was missing his wisdom just the other day. (raises glass) to absent friends.
