So today we had lab retreat, part 1. What that actually means is that everybody gives detailed info on what they've done in the last year, and what is upcoming. Today was one section of the lab with lots of PowerPoint slides for four hours. At least there were donuts and bagels.
There are three more days of this, starting in three weeks.
My father made my mother a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner--
Oh, by the way, my mother was discharged from the hospital today, but that's of secondary importance. What's important is that the sandwich smells so good I almost entertained thoughts of knocking over the sick lady and taking it away from her.
I suppose I will have to make my own grilled cheese sandwich.
Mmm, grilled cheese sandwich sounds good. I will have to make do with this duck egg and roast pork scramble.
Good job not knocking over the sick lady for her dinner, Dana.
Objectively, that was not the world's best grilled cheese sandwich, but it was immensely satisfying.
Sigh, no grilled cheese for me for a while. Although I fell off the diet wagon today--I was at training and the free lunch had Sun Chips, which I felt obliged to eat. Ah, well, at least I resisted the free cookies.
Buffistas, I need major job-ma right now. The old boss, that I worked for for a couple of months last summer, and who didn't have enough work to keep me on? Well, one of his senior project managers is moving back to Canada, I just found out today. And the old boss left a voicemail for me while I was in training today.
CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!!

Oh, fingers indeed crossed hard.
All the fingers crossed for you!
Crossing fingers!
Lori smoked some gouda over Christmas which is good/bad because Noah has discovered he LOVES smoked gouda. This is not a sustainable habit.
