Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

yay for the good news, Dana

And fingers crossed here as well, Consuela, that either something better comes along or Nemesis has been hoist on her own petard.

Today has been filled with onerosity--2 hours going over my sister's back taxes with the accountant. Now on to the next onerous task, calling the lawyer to ask him to draft a letter to one of her former colleagues to arrange a polite and legal hand over of a bunch of company files as such.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

That's great, Dana!

Don Cheadle is awesome.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yay, Dana!

But Pete is actually a football fan, and we got home in time to see the last 10 or so seconds.

Wait, WHAT?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think I am going to have to miss out on my planned run today. (a) I left my gym bag in my living room an, more importantly (b) I've had a headache most of the day and i think lying down in a dark room is going to be more my speed once I get home.

Oh well.

Best wishes that the work situation somehow turns out better than you expect, Consuela.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Yay, Dana's mom!

The predicted precipitation here turned out to be all rain. Not that I'm complaining, since it washed off a lot of salt from my car and the road.

Yay, Dana's mom!

Good luck, Consuela!

I'm all crankybloomers about job hunting, but I just got an email from my tattooist: the shop finally did the prize drawing from the holiday toy donation drive, and I won! So I have $80 credit toward my next tattoo.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, the reason I was thinking about putting acid in food was having read this [link] last week. I usually forget it, but I just threw some soup together along those lines, and the squeeze of lemon does make a huge difference!

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Since I got up at 4:30, I am so flipping tired I could cry, but ICU reopens for visiting hours from 8-10. I can sleep later, right?

Everything still good. Including the pain meds my mother is on.

And I know plenty of you get up early all of the time, but getting up early and then sitting around doing nothing all day is exhausting.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Hi, I'm Jilli, and I've been super-proud of myself for the days I've gotten out of bed by 11am. t the nocturnal and unemployed tag is not closing any time soon
