Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Yes.

Compassionately intolerant

So he managed another 23 years of life and work than he might have. That's good.

Still sad, of course, but these kind of thoughts make me feel better.

I'm with -t. Bless him for the well-fought battle.

It makes me sad to think that anything, or anyone could have toppled him after so long clean.

I sometimes wonder about a plumber in my neighborhood who has 30 years clean but EVERY day talks about how he's just one fuck up away from oblivion. He proudly states that he has never, ever taken a vacation that was not to an NA convention.

I tended to think he just has a flair for the dramatic. I will, from this point forward, take him more seriously.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Ha! That's so funny. We're friends with her and her husband.

I knew someone here knew her, but I didn't remember who. Maybe you posted one of her racing videos or something.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Aw man, that is sad.

Puppybowl is not, however.

Have purchased my 3rd power sander and now have more plastic sheeting. But no more today. I'm sick of cleaning.

Yeah, I can't imagine doing (or, I guess, not doing) something for over 20 years and then changing that. Tells you how much a pull that must have, damn.

I have checked, and confirmed I have both Puppybowl and Kitten bowl access. YES! I was afraid I maybe didn't get Animal Planet with my cable package.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I did. When she went to London for the Paraolympics.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So he managed another 23 years of life and work than he might have. That's good.

A really good 23 years of work, at least. That's something. Still, so sad.

Going back to the guy on Jeopardy, I think three days is a little soon to say anything about him being game-changing.

Oh fuck. Headline at the Sun:

Three to six inches of snow likely Monday in latest winter storm [link]

I guess I'll go pick up my laptop this evening after I get back from my swim. The City forecast is for only 1-2", but with higher snowfall predicted everywhere else, I'm going to hedge my bets.

...It's all because I washed my car, isn't it?
