Did a preliminary run on my taxes, and we owe $101 to the Feds, because Hubby isn't getting anything pulled from his disability benefits. I guess I'd better start an independent IRA, but I can't afford to divert too much money. Anyone know the formula for amount deposited to tax benefit?

I'm still waiting on one of my W-2s
I think I have three or four of my tax documents so far. I need to do a full check but I usually have between 15 and 30 of them in a year. I rarely get them all before the middle of February.
I don't want to contemplate the complexity of your taxes, ND.
Oh, good. My Time Capsule informs me that its disk is failing. could get a start on dealing with this if I could find a damn USB cable but apparently all the millions of cables roaming my house have other types of connectors. I wouldn't have thought that were possible.
Brenda, the house has a pretty view.
Really not to be believed. And 5 minutes from downtown. This was over Xmas.
The other pics in that album are a nature trail just down the hill.

Yeah, that definitely is way beyond the "do my own taxes" level. Eeek!
Kate, no, it's American University in DC. Neither of my nieces wants to go back to Tennessee, I'm afraid. Which university were you thinking of? If you don't mind saying.
I have everything I need in order to do my taxes except for one document that I won't get until early March. I suppose it wouldn't hurt to start entering things into Turbo Tax now, though.
I'm taking Trudy's advice and not thinking about it too much today. But it does seem like iif the numbers work out it could work.
Totally! Would your sister and dad rent from you? Would that be weird, or is your family OK with money things? (For some families that would be mad awkward)
That part's okay. Plan is they would both keep paying the rent they currently do, and that that can cover mortgage and taxes. I can cover insurance etc and cross my fingers the roof doesn't cave in.
