It's my estimation that... every man ever got a statue made of him, was one kind of sumbitch or another.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Tennis: Li Na wins the Australian Open LI NA WOOOO! Ryan has twice come out of his bedroom because his family were cheering too loudly. I saw her first appearance in the Aus Open finals, back in 2011. She's really improved in her determination.

Tennis:

Every time Li Na talks after a match she has a go at her husband (and former coach). "He does a lot of jobs, fix my drinks, fix my racquets. Thanks a lot, you're a nice guy. And so lucky you found me."

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Quiet weekend here. (We seem to have a bunch of those in a row right now) Got some errands to do, but that's it.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

It's above 20 degrees here, for the first time in a week. Heat wave!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I was thinking the same thing, Hil -- and when I went outside, it actually does feel kind of pleasant!

Went out last night with friends from the hood and actually stayed for the whole show! Which ended at midnight. Joe was shocked. That was fun.

Yet I was still up first at 5:30, uhg. But fought the cats to sleep in until it was time to go to market. I've got to get to the pool before 11, then out to Ellicott City for a haircut this afternoon- where I might just run into the friends from last night and market, as they're picking up S's engagement ring from being resized at a shop out there. Even when I leave my neighborhood, it follows me.

Ate so much last night. I was starving as I'd just eaten carrots all day, just plain carrots and apparently that is insufficient. So I had a prosciutto, spinach, rosemary and asiago risotto, then a lot of thincrust balsamic chicken pizza and a steady supply of bourbon and gingers. I was so sure I'd have leftovers, but nsm. I'm waiting for my guts to revolt.

Finish this coffee and then pool.

So, it's not warm enough not to have heat in the house. And my furnace isn't working! And the landlord is out. Bah.

sarameg - Jan 25, 2014 4:45:50 am PST #18056 of 30000

Oh no! That pesky landlord.

Ah jeez, it's snowing again. I wasn't expecting that until later. Better go check the forecast again.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

It's 25 here, which is positively tropical, but there's so much snow on icy roads that there's a snow emergency (level 2; which means that only people who have to be on the roads should be out). Looks like my trip to the gym is going to be replaced by snow shoveling.

information libertarian

I just shoveled my walk (mr. flea gets to do the driveway, mwahaha) and it's easy going. Depth varies from 2-6 inches (it was windy over here) but it's wet enough to stick but fluffy enough to be light, and it's quite warm out (compared to most of this week, that is.)
