"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

how disappointing. perhaps you knew this was coming, but that's awful.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Pretty sure that is a sign that I need to find another job and quickly.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Good luck!

Coding and Sleeping

First of all, holy shit, Consuela, I'm glad your sister is okay. Secondly, much job-ma msbelle.

Next and totally unrelated. I recently have seen part of Aliens in a video loop for work-related reasons. I've never really noticed it before but the little girl who played Newt really does a very impressive job of playing that role. This is what happens you seen a fairly small loop over and over.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I love Newt so much. I thought she was really fabulous.

In other news, I had my tax visit to H&R Block yesterday. Generally speaking - I was unimpressed. Essentially what the preparer did was enter data into a software program. Which is something I could have done myself. Further, I had to provide all the calculations myself and I think he forgot to ask me some things (e.g. work travel).

I feel like I spent several hours getting my records together, only to spend 2 hours with him repeating my information.

Because of the HSA and some tax confusion around that, I have to have another appointment next week to complete the process.

There were a couple of things he knew that I didn't, but I kind of feel like he should have just asked me to fill out a customized spreadsheet that I hand over to him and spend 30-45 minutes answering questions about crap that I didn't now or he needed more information about.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Le N, that's exactly why DH & I started doing our own taxes online.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Edie Shoma Mobarak, Suzi! That's a marvelous tradition!

I had a VOIP conference this morning too. VOIP works fine...except when it's dropping sound and everything's garbled. No idea why that happens.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Alas, I am not wearing new clothes, visiting friends, nor cooking Persian today. K-Bug and bf are here, so I have some family covered. There is a whole hierarchy of who visits who in what order. The younger generation visits the older generation first, unless there has been a family with a death, then they are visited first. The visits extend for 13 days after No Rouz. So lots of visiting.

That's our issue. Add in a lot of people using the VOIP phones to call into webex meetings and the faint fuzz on the line magnifies and enough people on webex and IT gets flaky and UHG.

Better quality than cells, less than the old phones.

Because books.

It sounds like a really lovely tradition, Suzi. Hey, how's the puppy?
