Ann, that's a ferret.

Everybody's o'erleaping obstacles today.

And sometimes they just vanish. Like my 1:30 to 3:00 meeting today on The Most Boring Subject Ever. Got canceled.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Now I'm imagining Jesse's dad leaving the house with a do rag. I like that image. I'ma keep it.

Hey, I fixed something! Straight up IT Crowd style.

Now I need to decorate my presentation. I hate this part. I'm truly bad at it. I will start by trawling MSDN for stealable clipart, but it should be done better than that....

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I hate this part. I'm truly bad at it.

I say scan one of your full page doodles and use it as a subtle watermark.

Especially if it has SPN boy sex.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now I'm imagining Jesse's dad leaving the house with a do rag. I like that image. I'ma keep it.

He definitely wore a rolled-up bandana well into the 90s, so it's not that far of a stretch.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Man, I am really having a hard time being productive at work. Part of it is that My Nemesis has slowly redirected all the stuff she generates to another contractor, so I don't have that much to do. But a big part of it is that I'm so frustrated and depressed about the hiring process that it's just hard to get enthusiastic about doing anything. This is not good.

OTOH, my boss is unlikely to notice: he's leaving for Washington in June, so he's kind of checking out already, and my program is pretty low on his priority list.

In other news, I was reading some guidance we got from headquarters--official agency guidance that took them about six years to write, review, revise, and distribute--and it's so terribly written, I couldn't believe it. Sentences that make no sense, missing verbs, wrong prepositions. It looks like it was written by someone for whom English was not their first language, and then never reviewed by anyone with any editing experience. So embarrassing. And annoying, since it replaces guidance that at least provided direction with guidance that just makes policy statements (and many of the statements are actually wrong, or misleading). Bah.

I am also having a hard time working today. Bleh. Just spend half an hour looking at and sorting all my emails (not actually DEALING with any of them, just figuring out which need dealing). Don't wanna!!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Have folks seen this on ThinkGeek?

Captain Kara Thrace Earrings

Monica is a huge Battlestar Galactica fan, so as soon as I saw these I knew she needed them. She's quite happy with them; she made her FB profile photo a picture of her wearing them.

Can folks see this picture of her?

[link]

Also, if you go back two FB profile pics you can see her wearing a Star Trek science officer's uniform.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

I think we have a house. We have a counter offer that we're prepared to accept, so it's very close.
