Timelies.
Thanks to Buffistas, not only am I hyper aware of how I take a shower but I'm now over thinking the hotel room experience. I checked in last night after midnight. I turned on the lights and thought, ah-ha, that is the first thing I do, then my brain countered with "it's fucking dark, of course you turned on the light". Ok, I put my bag on the bed, that is it. And again with the brain "the back is fucking heavy, of course you put it down". Oh, oh, oh, I used the bathroom "Well, duh, you had to pee, where else would you go".
And back on the shower topic, I have used two non-home showers in the last two days and I apparently change my routine completely based on where I can stash my toiletries and how good the water pressure is. I have no patterns.
I guess kids young enough to compete in a spelling bee are probably too young for Avenue Q? Because after that show, I will never misspell schadenfreude again. (In fact I was singing along as I typed that.)
Oh no, msbelle! Hope you feel better soon. I'll keep in touch with you re: coffee.
aurelia, the fb algorithm is deeply mysterious to me, but it does seem to Marcie people for sure. Like, the more you interact, the more you see. But I dunno, and I just went through in a fit of pique and demoted a bunch of people I don't actually know that well.
First few tour dates went reasonably well, and now the SO is on his way to Texas. I'll shop, then have a few days hanging out w/ my friend at her farm before I head down to join him.
Brenda and I are off to take a boat tour to las Islas marietas. If we die, that's where we went...

Totally where I went, too!

This was the grownup spelling bee! We are all plenty old enough (and the coworker hasn't seen Avenue Q, either).
Schadenfreude always makes me think of the German foosball player saying "If only there were a word that describes the joy I get from your misfortune" on Community. I know how to spell it mostly from taking German in high school.
I first heard the term schadenfreude on an old episode of
The Simpsons,
where Lisa explains its meaning to Homer.

This makes me feel old.
I have blisters on my fingers.
unrelated statements? Yes.
I am unreasonably annoyed that an article in the Vallejo paper mentions kiwis as something you can't get at farmer's markets because they aren't locally grown when I know there is a kiwi farm in Suisun Valley. Tsk.
