Timelies all!
Jiffy Lube called me to let me know that the replacement door handle is in. Now I just have to find the time to get over there.

I explicitly count on Walter to guard the house (although I often tell Jadzia she's in charge. She has seniority, after all, and she's pretty sensible as cat's go). I don't know if he could be effective other than his mere presence making anyone think twice, but hopefully that's enough.
Anyone want to help me decide whether I should quit my part-time job? I am starting to feel like it is more hassle than it is worth, but the uncertainty of temporary placement has me just circling the idea without coming to a firm conclusion.
Which is the part-time one, -t?
Inventory. Peculiar hours, $9/hr, sometimes a lot of driving. And a two-week lead time to change my availability, which is why I've had so much trouble with overlapping schedules this and last week. Supposing this temp assignment ends and I get another one with a different schedule, I'l have to go through another transition of times not quite working out, unless I just say I can't work weekdays at all.
Also - I haven't even been there for 3 months, it feels kind of wrong to quit so soon. But that could be some weird work ethic thing I've internalized that I'd be better off quashing. I can't tell.
Oh, hey, while I'm serial posting: in case anyone was wondering, I decided to go with the Greek Embassy travel mug that Raq gave me. It's classy looking, the Buffista connection pleases me, and I doubt anyone else in the office has one just like it to get confused if I leave it by the coffeemaker.
Also, overheard two coworkers discussing the Oxford comma, though they didn't call it that. They are both pro, and disapprove that it isn't being taught in English classes today, apparently.
Man, everyone in this office leaves early. I wonder why my supervisor is having me come in earlier only on Thurs and Friday?

Eh. It sounds like it's interfering with your availability for full-time work, -t, am I right? And it's only paying $9/hour anyway.
I would say that if you're getting full-time work at a better pay rate (even if only temporary positions), it's probably worth it to quit the inventory job. I suspect they have a lot of turnover, from how you've described it.
But if the jobs with regular hours aren't coming in reliably, you might want to hang onto it.

I am STAY-puh-ling.
Yes, I have nothing better to do than sing to myself online.
Is the inventory job enough hours for each gig to make it good to keep weekends only? If not, I'd think about letting it go.
And don't worry about quitting, if you do. In a job like that, with the strange hours and all, they probably expect a fairly turnover.
