Suzi, I'm glad you guys made it home safely! I was thinking about you guys but too exhausted to email.

Yikes, Suzi! I don't miss driving in that stuff at all. Good to hear it all ended up ok.
ita !, I hope the nurse locates the kit and finishes the treatment as soon as possible. Tough call on the request for a new nurse, the devil you know and all that.
Woohoo, someone just came and picked up my husband's Apple IIe and associated crap. Craigslist selling proceeds apace.
Yikes, Suzi! So glad you all are safe.
And I hope ita's nurse pulls it together.
Me, I spent yesterday with my Oldest Friend, who was out here for work this last week. So fun: we really still get along very well, even though we only see each other every couple of years. She's considering moving out to the Bay Area, which I suspect might not be great for her kids, but I would certainly enjoy it. Her husband is unemployed and would definitely have an easier time finding a job here than on Cape Cod, anyway. Guess we'll see how it works out.
We went for a long walk in the woods, then to the farmer's market, then wine-tasting, then to Dark Carnival for some presents for her kids. And then we had dinner at the same bar I've been to with Javachik several times. Really nice visit, I have to say.
And now I should do my taxes and go pick up oranges in the yard from my neighbor's tree. And send some emails.
Yardwork done. In a tank top, no less! 2 bags and that was AFTER my neighbor did my sidewalk and steps. Oh, trees.
I'm so freaking exhausted today. I want to go back to bed but I have crap to do.
The tournament was great, but we were there from 7am til 2:30 and I was walking around a great deal of the time. My knee wasn't happy with me. CJ got to help judge a few of the sparring rings, performed with his demo team (they took third) and then competed in kata. I have no idea how he didn't place in kata cause I though he looked great. Then we zoomed to K-Bug's place, traded cards and had our evening adventure.
CJ seems to be in the same state of exhaustion.
It's nice enough out here that I decided to open my bedroom window, which slides horizontally and has a screen, while I folded and put away laundry.
Bubba decided he wanted to see if he could fit between the window and the screen.
He can't.
OK, I have fed the birds and watered the plants. The only other things I really want to try to get done today are the perpetual tasks, laundry and dishes. And feeding myself, but that should be easy.
Posting that here because I need to remind myself that the OMG SO MUCH TO DO feeling that keeps popping up is false.
I need to vacuum, and I'd better do it now, because it takes Spare Cat several hours to settle down and be calm enough to eat. The other cats don't like the vacuum either, but they just relocate. Spare Cat, on the other hand, has enough intelligence to remember that the vacuum was ON and it could therefore be ON again, unexpectedly, no matter where she goes.
I used to think a smart cat would be a good thing.
One of our cats, Zorro, is very smart. He doesn't care when I pull the vacuum out, unlike the other animals, but he keeps his eye on me and knows to run away when he sees me plug it in.
