"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I don't know how all y'all with regular jobs don't go about killing your coworkers on a regular basis.

This made me laugh. I work a pretty regular job AND I probably interact with the same people in larger numbers than most (about 200 a day) and I rarely have this reaction. Teaching is odd in that I deal with large numbers of people (like retail) but they are same people every day for a year. I always think I don't like people, but I must to be around so many of them all the time.

I had to take Grace to a radiology study to see if she is aspirating (I would wager not as she's been drinking water for 18 months and only had viral pneumonia, not pneumonia due to aspiration). The drive to UCLA at 1:30 took me 30 minutes. The drive back took closer to 70 minutes (less if I don't count the 10 minutes I waited in traffic in the parking garage for jackasses to figure that shit out). Sigh. I would consider different docs on our side of town, but I can't.

ita, is this the last official week of woo woo nurse? Or is it going perm?

Paging Polgara, are you doing yarn crawl this year?

About 30 minutes ago, someone called me from Athens. She left a whispered voicemail in Greek and then played Adele's cover of "Lovesong".

Dudes, I totally got a drunk dial from Greece!

Karma is a cat, sleeping in my lap cuz it loves me. ~TS

When is it?

ETA: Nevermind, googled it. Looks fun, though huge--dunno if I could hit every one of those stores. Can't hurt to try, though. You?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Thank you, Amy! After all these years you'd think I'd have figured that out.

Because books.

After all these years you'd think I'd have figured that out.

I only realized it about six months ago.

I did it last year and didn't get to every store. Sort of the usual suspects that I go to and a few others. But this year, the yarn truck will be participating. A yarn truck! whoa.

I also just found a Takhi pattern book with a sweater I love and adore. Mebbe in all my copious spare time (now that cookies are winding down) I should do a sweater?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If we want an image thread, that's easy enough for me to not subscribe to but if we're adding images to other threads, less easy to avoid

I'm trying to stick to the former--although any of you can turn images off any time you want (or have them off by default and you choose to turn them on), it's probably simpler to have them all in designated, probably new, places.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's a pretty big change to our culture. But overall internet culture is pretty different these days than a decade ago.

I finished my build! It's the SO's bass for tour. I got the electronics working, including the preamp, so I'm pretty happy with myself. Had plenty of errors, but mostly immediately fixable ones. The one funky one was that the volume control is backwards. But it's usable for tour, and I can tinker with it after he gets home.

Tomorrow I'm going to try to reglue my three string, and then I'll hopefully finish its electronics (with magnetic pickups, woo) on Saturday. It doesn't need to be done for tour, but if it's awesome, I want to have it available.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

although any of you can turn images off any time you want

True. But if there are images posted throughout the threads, it's going to change the conversation. I'm not sure this distinction makes sense outside of my head so I am more than willing to try and put it into more words if it doesn't. I read b.org and I look at Tumblr.

I'm pretty aware of who is posting things here as I read them. I care a lot less who is posting things on Tumblr. And I follow a lot of y'all on Tumblr by choice. It's just different. A different format and a different interaction.
