Snow report from West of Most of You: Snowing pretty steadily in Cincinnati, but still warm enough that it's slushy as heck. We are banking on a snow day (kids are not in bed yet.)
Natter 71: Someone is wrong on the Internet
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Disney

Monday is MAGIC KINGDOM and a sit down breakfast at Chef Mickey which has a ridiculous breakfast buffet.

HOLY CRAP WHITE DEATH
(This is pretty much how the city is reacting. No lie.)
In other stupid IO9 news--there's currently a meltdown because they've moved the natter forum to new software and only the beta testers can start threads. So all the non-beta testers are crying cabal, and I just want to cry how irrelevant the whole thing is...
But possibly because I'm having a massive (early) migraine, and I should probably just go to sleep. Yesterday was good, though! V. little pain.
Plan for tomorrow is to go in for the morning until/unless the roads start looking bad or I get a notice the Y is closing early (hence need to swim before it closes) and work from home the rest. Of course, IT fucked up my vpn and then DIDN'T FIX IT, so while I can do most stuff via ssh, there are some sites off limits to me. Yeah, I should have fought back and followed up, but really? I took it as an opportunity to fuck up their helpdesk stats with an open call. Yes, I am that petty because they totally fucked me over on the initial call by not responding for a fucking week. I shamefacedly admitted this to my officemate (he's in IT, but linux admin, not mac) and he laughed and laughed and cheered me on.
Unfortunately, I still do not have a working vpn....last laugh?
Jr high is next year
Ugh on the rest of it (until DISNEY!!), but also: Damn, Gina! Junior high?!?!
It does seem like mac's figured out how to deal with normal stuff, which is awesome, and he could still work on handling crappy stuff, which everyone has to do.
Just to re-post flea's post:

We just went out and switched car spots in the driveway so Tim is on the end, since we live a mile and a half from his work and he would go to work even if Godzilla were rampaging through Northside. Anyway, it is CRAZY slushy. It's not even good snowball consistency yet.
OMG, you guys -- my cousin who was cheating on her husband and suddenly married the other guy? Now back to using her first husband's last name on Facebook and listed as "separated." I wish I were better at keeping in touch with her sister, because I cannot message her just to gossip.
I swear I read all today's posts, but, well, going from working about 12 hours a week to more like 50 is gonna be rough, judging by today. So, um, pretend I said something like a proper response, I probably thought of some while I was reading but they are gone.
I mean, good day on the whole, but I am tired and my brain is not really working.
If I can get through this week and next week and start getting scheduled a little less often for inventories I think I'll be in good shape, though.
"Business casual" at the new place of employment apparently includes jeans. I'm going to have to ask for the official dress code because the vague things conveyed to me today (something about stockings and arm length skirts) I really did not understand. Jeans are allowed, flip-flops are not, I'm not sure about anything else.
I went to the office today 50% because I like being caught out in weird weather. I never go in on Tuesdays.
(But in the worst weather I could walk home in an hour or less, so. )
