Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I'm almost done with Downton Abbey S1 (I know, I'm way behind) and I'm having all kinds of Anna/Mr. Bates feelings. Now I'm a little worried about what I have coming. But Maggie Smith is just so fantastic -- I've laughed out loud at her delivery of lines more often than I have for anything else recently.

I just watched season one last weekend. I'm right there with you.

Because books.

Thanks to whoever suggested it.

Who do you think?

Because books.

I don't feel well (sinusy, sore throat) so I think I may be mainlining at least S2 this weekend, aurelia.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

Huh, I have a Payflex card, but haven't had any problems yet.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

It is Cake Boss cake! Tons of frosting but the cake itself is pretty good. I hate my grocery store's bakery so I was happy to find something else to try.

I bought the largest knee support avail at Walgreens and it is too small. Guess I'll look for something online.

My company just switched to them this year. Lotta grumbling cause of all the fees (overdraft for insufficient funds rather than rejecting the card, paper statement-which was a default and the website wasn't transparent to turn it off, for paper check rather than direct deposit, etc) and then apparently there was more. The letter also implies inaccurate responses from the helpdesk, funds not being available. So, yikes.

I will only have Sunday free, so I doubt I'll make it all the way through the season. I have to be functional on Monday.

Woot, someone just came and picked up a chest of drawers, and someone else is supposed to come get the file cabinet.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I have a new employer and the way they do HSA is a straight out clusterfuck. I had to go with one company for the HSA, and another administers the debit card. OMG. I just can't even deal.

And I think I had to submit DNA in order to get the account established in the first place.

I seriously considered looking into setting up my own HSA rather than the company (my self-employed friends do this) but the idea of the tax work I'd have to do (it would be moved after tax, so I'd have to make sure of how to go to get the taxes back) and me so bad with all that....
