Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

As often, I'm trying to make it look like I got anything done this week. Also meeting 3/1 deadlines.

yep. weekly reports, plus month end reports, plus getting travel for the next 2 weeks double checked.

FAIL. Insufficient data. No, really. My car has not been driven enough since the repair. I've got to go back in the next month. Sigh. They suggested a week, I said I drive less than 50 miles a week, they said, maybe 3.

So I gassed up the car, went to Target and got a pedicure.

spotcrime.com is the best local one. Founded by my realtor's husband, actually. But it is reliant on police releasing reports and that's, well, citistat has issues.

I just read this fantastic long piece about a 40-year-old track record: [link] It's marvelously written and pretty heart-breaking. Ouch.

In an hour I get to sign the final papers for the sale of my folks' condo. And I really need to print out travel documents, since I'm going on a site visit on Monday & Tuesday.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

My watchband just broke. That's the most interesting thing that's happened to me this morning.

(Well, that and stumbling across maybe the most depressingly iconic piece of 1980s footage I've ever seen - VHS tapes being packaged on an assembly line in the US. 2 relics of a long-forgotten age...VHS tapes and American manufacturing jobs.)

Because books.

Good news on the condo sale, Consuela! Or being almost done with it, anyway.

2 relics of a long-forgotten age...VHS tapes and American manufacturing jobs.

Right? Sigh.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I am unemployed, so the most interesting thing happening in my life is stupid Facebook games.

OK, here's something: I have a desktop widget that randomly brings up pictures from my photo archive. I just realized this week that it can also selectively show pictures off RSS feeds, so I added the Good Things Happened site.

Yeah, it's actually gone pretty smoothly, although we have some last-minute repairs to get done this weekend, and my brother needs to rent a truck to come pick up furniture. He texted me yesterday asking if a 5x8-foot trailer would be big enough.

Except this is what he's picking up: a queen-sized bed with mattress & box spring; a matching bedside stand; a six-foot-long bureau with a large mirror above it; a dining room set that seats 6 (8 fully extended); a smallish desk; a 7-foot-tall china cabinet with glass doors (which comes apart into two pieces, thank FSM). Oh, and a dolly.

A small trailer will NOT fit all that! Must text him again, he needs to rent a truck.
