Oh, I had a thing I wanted to share with all my buffistas because I knew you'd understand.
Today Franny wore an outfit she particularly loves. It's a top with a tie and jacket that looks a bit like a school uniform. She wore it with black pants, boots, and a brown hobbit traveling cloak. This morning, before school, she told me that one of her class mates tried to tease her about it the last time she wore that top saying she "looked like she belonged at Hogwarts." It was a totally What Would Jilli Do? moment for me. I told her she shouldn't let that kind of comment stop her from wearing what she wants, that she should dress to make herself happy. And what I loved was that she had put the outfit on BEFORE she told me. She had already decided she was gonna wear what she wanted, I guess she just needed a little encouragement.
Awww. Go Franny! Though of course saying she looks like she's from Hogwarts should not be a limiting factor.
I need to do two things -- program the iPad since Grace is now a major iPad/Communications Device user (thanks, Lee!) with all of the names of the kids in her class, per the speech teacher's request and take a cookie inventory. I'm just beat though and want to do neither.
And what I loved was that she had put the outfit on BEFORE she told me. She had already decided she was gonna wear what she wanted, I guess she just needed a little encouragement.
Aw, that's great. And dude, who thinks "you belong at Hogwarts" is even an insult? Hogwarts is awesome!
Yeah, that's not an insult! What are kids learning these days? Why in my day, when someone wanted to bully you...
I am very jealous of Kat having access to that many fruit trees, dang! Not that I would even know how or when to eat a cherimoya.
I don't know what a cherimoya is, but it sounds much more delicious than anything growing in my backyard.
Oh and this is probably bad, but: there was a bank robbery in my neighborhood (bad), but the suspect was apparently described as, and put in the police description as "orange". They later clarified they means "George Hamilton-esque", but still. My first thought was that an Oompa Loompa had robbed the bank!
And dude, who thinks "you belong at Hogwarts" is even an insult? Hogwarts is awesome!
I know, right? But that was her point, she was taken aback that someone would say it like it was a bad thing.
Cherimoya is delicious, Jessica.
When I walked into her room, she was waving her foot around setting the alarm off. GROWL.
Well, that's so Grace...
Nice confidence job, Franny!
No idea on the robberies. Still not clear to me if they are burglaries or muggings. There are ridealongs in NE next week and I'd love to do one but I've got enough I've got to figure out next week.
