That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Have we seen this Malvin and Cobbes T-shirt?

My friend Karen made that shirt! Everyone should buy one!

Today's lunch: baked asparagus omelette, pancakes and hot chocolate with whipped cream.

Damn, that sounds good. My lunch was microwaved TJ's Indian food, but maybe tomorrow I should go out for pancakes instead.

I've been mildly sick for two weeks and I just wish it would go away. It's not miserable or anything, but it makes it hard to sleep and I'm so draggy these days. Bleh. But I did go for a short walk at lunch today, and it improved my mood hugely. Sunshine! Fallen leaves! Fresh air! Must do that more often.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I mean, the correct answer is "is awesome if you can do it and want to, and if you can't or don't, don't beat yourself up, because the real antifeminist thing here is being a smug jerkhead about a woman's feeding choices, unless those choices are feeding the kid whiskey and pork rinds, in which case, have fun."

By denying those helpless babies their whiskey and pork rinds, you are DISCRIMINATING AGAINST AN OPPRESSED CLASS and are probably a Nazi.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I think it's garlic fries for lunch today. And another run by Fry's to exchange stuff. Ick.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Cook one chopped onion on high for 6 hours, stirring once an hour (you can get fancy and add some other ingredients for part of that time, I like garlic and apples), then 1 pound of chicken liver stirred into the onion and cooked for another hour. At that point everything is pretty much falling apart and stirring with a wooden spoon will "chop" it. Maybe add a tablespoon of port to smooth out the texture.

I am so trying this. Thanks!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I think it's also useful not to think of writing as some magical thing

I have an irrational blindspot that makes me think it is absolutely magical and can be taken from me if I step on a crack or say something mean about the Pope.

hip deep in pie

I'm going to see Prince tonight! I wish I wasn't so tired so I would be more excited, but I will be very excited after a nap and a shower.

And none of us deserving the cruelty or the grace -- Leonard Cohen

Prince is freakin' awesome in concert, and I'm very excited for you! I saw him in concert last March and it was great.

Because books.

God, I'd love to see Prince. Have fun, Sue!

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Shitty first drafts, Allyson.

Which is nice to say, but still harder to implement. For some reason I've been unable to write much the last few months (and I'm SO glad I didn't sign up for Yuletide or any of the other seasonal challenges, you have no idea).

Now off to pick up my lunch from Specialties. NOM.
