Cook one chopped onion on high for 6 hours, stirring once an hour (you can get fancy and add some other ingredients for part of that time, I like garlic and apples), then 1 pound of chicken liver stirred into the onion and cooked for another hour. At that point everything is pretty much falling apart and stirring with a wooden spoon will "chop" it. Maybe add a tablespoon of port to smooth out the texture.
I am so trying this. Thanks!
I think it's also useful not to think of writing as some magical thing
I have an irrational blindspot that makes me think it is absolutely magical and can be taken from me if I step on a crack or say something mean about the Pope.
I'm going to see Prince tonight! I wish I wasn't so tired so I would be more excited, but I will be very excited after a nap and a shower.
Prince is freakin' awesome in concert, and I'm very excited for you! I saw him in concert last March and it was great.
God, I'd love to see Prince. Have fun, Sue!
Shitty first drafts, Allyson.
Which is nice to say, but still harder to implement. For some reason I've been unable to write much the last few months (and I'm SO glad I didn't sign up for Yuletide or any of the other seasonal challenges, you have no idea).
Now off to pick up my lunch from Specialties. NOM.
I think it's also useful not to think of writing as some magical thing that very few people can do, or that requires a special muse or whatever. It's a job. Some days you call out sick. Some days you don't do your best. But if you keep showing up, you can get it done.
So, so true. And something I need to remember. Allyson, don't beat yourself up!
I love being a "regular" at places, and I love friendly service. There's a charity shop near my house where the volunteer staff of little old ladies used to set aside all the black velvety or lacy things for me to go through.

At my coffee shop, my coffee comes to me before I order - breakfast varies. I have other places where I am a regular, but I want to eat and drink my way through the menu-- so there is no regular dish
