I did not know this. It's funny because it makes much more sense now. I can't decide if I should take the next step with lowering my cellular bill. I am reflexively averse to a mobile contract. Am I $120/year averse to it? What if AT&T pulls it out in the last inning and does buy T-Mobile and I'm stuck for the duration? Also, I'd have to buy phones outright, but I currently *do* buy phones outright, so...I think the most important thing is, what puts my unlimited data and free hotspot functionality at the least risk?
