Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

For myself it's puzzling over how the Hobbit economy works.

I always wondered why the Bagginses were called "sir". A class system seems to be the antithesis of the whole bucolic we're-simple-people-of-the-earth thing.

brillig

Except that the Shire is supposed to be a reflection of the bucolic English country world, and there is a huge class stratification there. They're simple people of the earth, but the people living in the big houses are the rightful lords and masters of those simple people.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Verizon charges me a dollar if I don't make a long distance call a month. How is that not cheating? I've been focussed on using Android so I went that long without making one on my TMobile or Verizon services. So the latter one bit me in the ass anyway! Next thing I have to do is break down my T Mobile offerings and scrape off anything I now no longer need.

Which, no, isn't the nerdiest thing I've done all month. Maybe reading this for pleasure, or something of its ilk, and then sending emails to developers who don't follow the guidelines properly--yeah, I've been that person all week.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

What's the nerdiest thing you've done lately?

I'm rereading my old D&D source books (specifically, Eberron), for fun.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I had chicken and lentils about 9:30 this morning, and I am about to kill my husband if he doesn't get off the phone with his uncle and take me to Red Lobster.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I am still, slowly, eating the pancakes I made for breakfast.. They're fried in bacon fat and there were some bacon rashers with them, so I don't want to waste a thing...

Okay, great, I want more bacon now. Shit. This could be dangerous.

eta: Some gorgeous tattoos.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

What's the nerdiest thing you've done lately?

Last night I was looking at a comic book encyclopedia of various pagan deities to get names so I could look them up in more academic sources and figure out some stuff for a role-playing game that I don't actually play.
