I have to be honest-- I am totally dreading the sick old parent thing, especially since I am the only child of a single mom and my family is not close to cousins etc. I am hoping to get to 40 before it really kicks in.

askye, my old Koogie was nestled next to me when he died. It comforts me now to know that he was close to someone he loved in the end.
Thanks connie and everyone. I am glad this didn't happen while I was at work and she was alone and then Dean was alone.
Will came, there was lots of comfort given. Then we had lunch and now he's taken Maddie to be buried on his farm next to several dogs and his 2 favorite cows.
Dean is being extra cuddly. I'm going to go take a shower soon and maybe take a nap.
Also I don't like people who are judgy about older moms. Or judgey about people who don't want children. Sometimes it seems like you can't win no matter what choice is made.
Sophia,
to add what others have said...
when I was first on metaformin, I did feel a bit nauseous. This also may have been because I think I was dehydrated. Some people don't react well to metaformin - despite the fact it is a very good drugh for the vast majority. It may be that your mother had too much (or not enough), was not taking it on time and ate too much and her body didn't like it.
Metaformin is a good drug, but your mother may want to check the dosages and take it on a schedule to see if she feels like this with other meals.
Askye, I am so sorry. But I am glad you were there for her, which is the most important thing. And I am also glad Will could come be there for you.
I hope you continue to get the support you need, askye. I think you are a great pet owner--and this sort of guilt is realistically disproportionate without being self-centred. Which is to say,
In a shift of topic, I called home again this morning, and got passed around like a hot potato until I got to my sister. Who had a long conversation with a lot of long words about her opinions on the Occupy movement. It was good to hear her excited, and very different from yesterday. I wish I felt like she was getting this engaged with her friends around her.
My father wouldn't let me engage him at all. I hope he's okay.
Hey, anyone used/heard of these? I'm thinking of using them as a stocking stuffer for my sisterl But they need to be precisely the write thing. And economical.
Washable is important. I hope they mean machine washable and don't expect one to hand wash.
My most green friend basically doesn't use produce bags at all, but they look good for someone who wants to use bags but feels bad about it.
Also can they be dried in a dryer? Even someone who line dries most of the time (not saying that is your sister) will get into a hurry on occasion and want to use a dryer.
Also, the 7X7 bag will useless most of the time - so in practice you are paying 6 bucks for 4 bags not 5.
Jess: If your friend is putting produce directly in normal reusable bags, which don't get washed very often, the bags are gradually accumulating nasty micro-organisms and transferring them to unprotected food put in the bags. Either food in reusable bags should be protected either by disposable or frequently washed bags, or the resusable bags should themselves be washed frequently.
