I had Lillian at 30, and she's exhausting.
Well, and there's physiological stuff too for sure. Not to cross the human line, but horses like Seabiscuit ended up having larger than normal organs that did stuff like increased his lung capacity and blood supply but cost him in terms of lifespan. When it comes to athletics or physical arts like dance, that stuff plays in. Is it talent that gives Alex Wong unnatural flexibility and extension? No, but something let's him take advantage of it.
Seabiscuit never had an autopsy when he died, but chances are high that he'd been drugged to the gills while running, which may've had more to do with him dying at 14 than anything else.
Secretariat, who did have a enormous heart, most likely died at the age of 19 due to his chunky monkey status, given that he foundered. (More to do with the farm not exercising the studs than anything.)
The suspected X-Factor (big hearted) horses don't appear to have a shorter lifespan than than their peers. Man O' War, for example, died at 30.
Argh. I can now stay up until 1 fine, but apparently can't sleep past 8 ever. Annoying! (Apologies to those of you for whom seven hours would be an incredible luxury.)
I am 37 and cannot imagine being pregnant- my hip hurts enough as it is, I think I would be unable to walk. Since I never wanted kids, this is OK- if I really wanted them, I am sure I would find a way to handle it.
Is there anyone here who knows anything about Metformin and Type II diabetes? My mom is on it, and overate at Thankgiving yesterday and ended up vomiting profusely. It was kind of scary. My family was saying it was the high blood sugar, but I don't think that causes vomiting.
Yikes, Sophia, that sounds scary. I know some people on Metformin, but don't know anything about vomiting.
I posted this in Bitches but I need to talk to people, Will's on his way up but I can't get in touch with my parents or brother.
My kitty Maddie wasn't doing well, I took her to the vet. She started going downhill, I was going to taker to the vet tomorrow morning again.
She was doing bad this morning, I picked her up to hold her while I called an emergency vet.
She had seizures and died.
I've never had anything like this happen to me and I can't stop thinking I should have been more aggresive at the vet.
Oh no, askye! How sad and scary.
I am here for just a few moments before work.
Askye- I am so sorry. That must have been so scary
It was , she was just in so much pain at the end I don't know what to do.
She was really my favorite too.
Do you need anything that we can give? Are you alone?
