You do well to flee, townspeople! I will pillage your lands and dwellings! I will burn your crops and make merry sport with your more attractive daughters! Ha ha ha! Mark my words! Ooh! Ale! I smell delicious ale!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Am I semanticing it up?

Possibly. Honest skeptics and critical thinkers get labeled "conspiracy theorists" by those who would like to maintain the status quo. By denigrating those who disagree, they devalue them and their opinions. If someone calls themself a conspiracy theorist, though, all bets are off.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone so inclined. Happy Thursday, everyone else.

I got a pretty e-card and a sweet greeting from a friend and wanted to send a reply. I was stymied there for a minute--she's from UK, but I think I managed it gracefully enough.

Conspiracy theorists, IMO, are looking for conspiracies. Skeptics are looking for the truth.

Exactly. Why 99% of global warming deniers don't deserve to be called skeptics.

Hey question. We have an electronic ignition gas oven that does not light manually (or maybe it does but no one has figured out how.) It is currently on. If the power goes out, we can just the leave the oven and continue to safely use it. True?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Indeed!

We're out the door to Muni/BART/Cab our way to EM's house who is doing all the cooking this year. Then tomorrow Emmett is off to his first weekend snowboarding. (Wish him no injuries, please!)

Happy Thanksgiving, Buffistas!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I am engaging in a celebratory viewing of "Thespis."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am about to engage in a celebratory nap!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Crave!

That looks amazing, Scola. But you need to have some more cranberry sauce. Seriously. It's important.

Jezebel asked what was the best Thanksgiving TV episode. I thought that was obvious? Or has WKRP been retired due to sheer over-awesomeness?

Always Anti-fascist!

I like it...haven't seen it in ages, but "as God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!"
