I went last year, because I was awake early and needed stuff at Target.
This year I'm not allowed to buy anything new, so I probably won't.
I find the differences and similarities between the French and Brazilian cheesy bread balls--not to be confused with salty chocolate balls--very interesting. Is this another of those culinary items that is common to many cultures? Like the bread-stuffed-with-meat thing?
I try not to even go near a centre of commerce on Black Friday unless absolutely necessary.
This is the first year I have to work though, which makes it even easier to avoid the hordes. I will instead be spending my day running the retrieval of vehicles from the Cuban Interests Section. I am the only one able to communicate with them. Tell me, why does a country send diplomats to a location where they are not fluent in the lingua franca? It makes no sense to me.
Hubby likes to go to malls on Christmas Eve to laugh at people. Plus the "OMG, we must sell this stuff, slash the price beyond the bone!" sales are often good.
We don't do Black Friday sales. Instead, we are doing birthday stuff because it's K's birthday (35th!).
Oh, happy birthday to K!
I know people who will get up in the middle of the night to get to stores at 4 a.m. on Black Friday. I think it's crazy. I've been to a mall once or twice, but the traffic alone is too much to deal with.
Huh. I don't own a 9x13 pan. I have an 8 x 11 and a 10 x 15. I think better to go down a size than up.

This. Although in recent years, the deep discounting has started the 7-10 days before Christmas.
I would rather brave the mall on the 26th for the sales than on Black Friday.
going to work on Black Friday is a pain, because it's a nasty atypical traffic pattern that messes with the commute of blameless people.
