I dropped K-Bug off at Old Navy and went in to check out today's sale items (Men's and women's clearance is 50% off until 5pm). I found a couple shirts for me, 3 shirts for K-Bug, and a couple of shorts for CJ - $24 total. Not to shabby.

Man, they're having a meeting I'm guest speaker at when I'm not actually the subject matter expert. I tried to explain to just about everyone that I'm not the right person to ask, but I just couldn't get off the call. Thank dog I also ran around collecting information at the same time.
ita !, do they think you control or have access to all the information in all the world? Or is it a lack of caring who actually is supposed to be the SME that drives them to expect you to know everything?
do they think you control or have access to all the information in all the world?
I swear, in this project, I think they do. This is a meeting about billing for a company I don't even work for. I'm not in billing. And did I mention I don't work for this company? I work for their sister companies, who have different business models. I'm kinda making shit up here.
Earlier today, I was invited to a meeting about end to end testing of the project. I'm not in testing. I'm involved in 30% of the end to end. And I've covered that 30% in detail already.
It's a good thing I really like this project, but that's probably also why I'm invited to 80% of the meetings. Because I keep perking up when it's mentioned, so they figure it's because I know shit. Uh, oops?
And...it's just occurred to me that I've found another hole in the project that needs to be plugged, so I'm going to send an email about it, and then they're going to assume I have expertise there, and so it goes.
Perkins, reply insent
catching up w/ quick bits:
Perkins - congratulations! That is just wonderful.
Sumi - I'm sorry to hear about the student. Ugh. I'll have to look this up online.
My update: because I didn't plan right, I had to do grocery shopping TODAY. Fucking A.
Anyway, I survived Whole Foods and another grocery store (and Panera!) without stabbing anyone, so it is a win-win.
Peace be with you all during the holiday just in case I'm not back here after getting swallowed by my stuffing preparations.
Jesse likes this, right?
I love it!
Random Matilda-ism of the day:
Early this morning we were watching the Errol Flynn/Olivia de Havilland Robin Hood, the story of which she's familiar with from the Disney cartoon. As Olivia de Havilland stood at her window, gazing wistfully in the direction of the prison tower, I said, "Maid Marian is very sad."
"She loves Robin Hood," Matilda said. "On the very day they met, they loved."
