Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
catching up w/ quick bits:
Perkins - congratulations! That is just wonderful.
Sumi - I'm sorry to hear about the student. Ugh. I'll have to look this up online.
My update: because I didn't plan right, I had to do grocery shopping TODAY. Fucking A.
Anyway, I survived Whole Foods and another grocery store (and Panera!) without stabbing anyone, so it is a win-win.
Peace be with you all during the holiday just in case I'm not back here after getting swallowed by my stuffing preparations.
Jesse likes this, right?
I love it!
Random Matilda-ism of the day:
Early this morning we were watching the Errol Flynn/Olivia de Havilland Robin Hood, the story of which she's familiar with from the Disney cartoon. As Olivia de Havilland stood at her window, gazing wistfully in the direction of the prison tower, I said, "Maid Marian is very sad."
"She loves Robin Hood," Matilda said. "On the very day they met, they loved."
I am excited to have my cousin's sweet potato (no marshmallow) biscuits tomorrow! I assume she's making them...
Although this made me laugh:
I think that as home cooks, it’s our tendency to want to do anything and everything that can be from scratch as such
She means her community of home cooks, right?
Face it, Jesse, you're not a home cook. You're a faux cook.
I would be Semi-Homemade if only I were more committed to tablescapes! And barfing.
OMG, the developers are trashing PHP. They're saying it's not a real language, and that if I can code in PHP, then surely I can learn a real programming language.
ALL OF THEM. They're Microsoft bots. I'm having an argument with a developer I don't usually talk to, espousing what I see as the high points of open source options in general and PHP in specific, and I can hear laughter from over the cubicle walls.
I think we need a Thunderdome.
if only I were more committed to tablescapes! And barfing.
Okay, you know, you're odd.
