All,
I am having an argument with my student that I need to be resolved. Here. In this forum.
How many guests do you think are the MAXIMUM for a "small wedding?"

I agree with Tom. 49
Heh. I would say 50. But yes, right around there. Possibly with more being invited but not actually expected to come.
What? I pulled that number out of my ass. I've been to four weddings in my life.
Would "intimate" be considered smaller than "small"? IE, intimate would be immediate family only and small being the next step up?
Intimate I would say 12 or less. Small, I defer to Tom's reknowned expertise.

My student says "100" is a small wedding.
And I laughed out loud at that. 100 is not small to me.
I don't think 50 is particularly small, but I think if you're talking numbers bigger than that you really can't claim small.
I'd say "very small" or "intimate" would have to be less than 20 including bride, groom, and minister. Possibly smaller depending on how many siblings/children/etc you have.
