'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay Perkins! I'm late to the party, but I want to add that I also bought the first house I toured. It CAN happen!

Even if you don't get this one, you'll be a step closer to knowing what it is you're looking for, which will help winnow the choices you'll face.

If power for well water is a worry, get a generator. You're in earthquake territory, so it's a sooner-or-later proposition, and will be a source of worry avoidance even if you never fire it up in earnest.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Thanks all!

I do hope this works out, though I decided last night I'm not going to be crushed if it doesn't. Of course, I am also mapping my current furniture into the new floor plan already.

Houses like carrots!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

A giant vat (get on of those disposbale aluminum trays if you don't have a large casserole) of homemade mac and cheese.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Go, Perkins!

AMy, for bulk feeding, I immediately think of chili or lasagna.

Thrive to spite them

I need some advice. I have a neighbor who will be moving out soon. She has 2 kittens (3 and 5 months I think).

They have no food or water over there (I can peek in the window) they are meowing and scratching at the door. I let them in myplace yesterday when the landlady was showing the apartment.

According to her the neighbor called b/c she lost her key and needed to get up with the Landlady for a replacement. That was Saturday afternoon and the landlady hasn't heard from her.

I know she didn't come home last night. So the kittens have been alone from Saturday afternoon until today.

When my landlady comes home I want to tell her the situation, ask if I can get into the apartment and get the kittens and feed them.

Would it be wrong if, when my neighbor shows up, I tell her I can't give the kittens back to her because of her neglect?
