I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Your kvetching was totally fine, Kat. You should kvetch at will.

Absolutely!

Burrell! You are going to be in this area soon. WHOOOO

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

So, I appear to have made an offer on a house.

Woo! Fingers crossed!

And yes, I will be in the area very soon indeed. We should make a plan to meet up.

We should!

For now though, I think I am going to have a very strong drink.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I missed the kvetching but I suspect I support Kat in thread.

OMG HOUSE!

I'm also a bit bummed about leaving my cat behind. I worry. She's old and it's cold and she will miss snuggling next to me. I will miss the snuggles too.

I totally get this. Old kitties need love and snuggles and body heat and it's kinda sad when we have to be in other places.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Perkins, you are a trip! I hope you get this house for the terms you want! YAY.

Perkins, I'm super excited for you! I'm glad you liked the house on the second time around.

I should have gone swimming this morning, but Tuesday's is Masters Team so there is only one lane open. It can be demoralizing to swim with the Masters folks.

Noah moved up a level in swim. Just in time for us to take a month off? Or should I create 8 days of stress for me (leaving work early every day) in order to get him to lessons for continuity?

Because books.

HOUSE!

Kat, no one tells you that parenting is 95% what you said last night. It's the 5% of cute and amazing that keeps you going. Hang in there. Noah and Grace are wonderful kids, and you're a fantastic mom.

I need hivemind suggestions for feeding a crowd. There will be ... twelve of us for dinner at our house on Saturday, and I want to do something non!turkey leftover. Ideas? We have no vegetarians or other restrictions, but we do have a couple picky kids in there. I want something relatively easy and not a million separate dishes.

Two favorites:

Sweet Potato Risotto which is sort of like leftovers if you have yams, but not quite. Also, delicious if you add bratwurst in. Plus one pan!

Also, shepherd's pie (which again, you could have leftovers in it without it being a leftover dish).

Both easy and big dishes and single pot ones.

Ooh, shepherd's pie. I bet S. would like that idea.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Yay Perkins! I'm late to the party, but I want to add that I also bought the first house I toured. It CAN happen!

Even if you don't get this one, you'll be a step closer to knowing what it is you're looking for, which will help winnow the choices you'll face.

If power for well water is a worry, get a generator. You're in earthquake territory, so it's a sooner-or-later proposition, and will be a source of worry avoidance even if you never fire it up in earnest.
