You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Good lord, Tom.

Amy's Kitchen makes some frozen GF mac and cheese.

I had the GF version with broccoli recently and it was NOM.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

But if you use Okra that thickens a gumbo nicely. How I always made Gumbo, just because I like okra and less work than roux. Also, something I never knew until checking wiki - some Gumbos are thickened with dried sassafrass leaves.

Totes! File and okra are very traditional ways of thickening gumbo.

Because books.

Andrew Breitbart died. So young. Wow.

Art Crawl!!!

Okay, reading a recommendation for a tuition waiver that begins "it is my dubious honor to recommend" - seriously? "Dubious" - it makes me question the intent of the entire recommendation.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Maybe they thought dubious was like "indubitably"?

Art Crawl!!!

I don't know. Is it any wonder that the student essays are so bad when the faculty/staff letters of recommendation are also so weak.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I can't believe these are coming from adults with professional jobs, sumi.

Andrew Breitbart died. So young. Wow.

Huh.

I read stuff that comes home from school -- both the high school and Sara's school -- and cringe. A lot.

Art Crawl!!!

The student essays we give one group of points for what they say and another for how it is written. (I think that part 1 is difficult to judge if part 2 is particularly weak.)

Unfortunately, we don't get to grade the letters of recommendation.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thanks guys. I didn't expect to feel different about who I can be as an employee this late in the game (and lord knows what my mother's cancer had to do with it, but it was something...I'm creeped out by that), and even though there are things to bitch about and my health is for shit all the time, this is the easiest it's been for things to suck, ever. I'm grabbing onto this baby with both hands. I hope it can stay this way.
