That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Oh Kat, how awful.

Didn't watch the Oscars -- I watched last year for the first time in ages and was actually surprised at how boring it was -- but I'm glad that The Artist won so many awards! Not that I've seen it yet, but I want to.

Another long bout of insomnia last night. I am really looking forward to being able to sleep on my back again, though I realize I have many sleepless nights to look forward to for other reasons.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Didn't Billy Crystal used to play Sammy Davis Jr on SNL? Not that it makes last night any less offensive, in any case--I just seem to remember it.

Coding and Sleeping

How much of the Oscar's audience would even know who Sammy Davis Jr. is? Heck, I only know he is/was an entertainer of some sort. I have no idea what he actually did. Maybe the Oscar's viewership skews older though.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Those were some of the things that left me baffled about the Oscar intro. It was at the intellectual level of fart jokes.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Based on my highly-un-scientific sample Crystal's hosting played well to Middle America, particularly the over-50 crowd.

Yeah, he played Sammy and Joe Piscipo played Frank Sinatra. I was trying to remember what his make-up was like then.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Maybe Fey and Poehler can host next year.

I thought Jolie looked hot, but I'm in the minority, there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

But why with the leg, even on stage? Even in pictures with Brad?? It's so crazy, I feel like she must have been doing it as a joke, after the dress rep told her one too many times to emphasize the split.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

But... SAMMY DAVIS JR! How do you NOT know who he is if you are over 30 and lived in the US for most of your life?

(The RAT PACK, Man!)

I thought Jolie looked hot, but I'm in the minority, there.

Me too.
