You're talking to Serenity. And, Early... Serenity is very unhappy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

My sister is having a 40th birthday "thing". She is appalled because she feels a stripper is inevitable. She has explained to people concerned that she doesn't actually want one, but she's resigned to getting one anyway. I'll check with her later to see if there's anything she does want that I can arrange, but I'm not actually going to talk anyone out of getting a stripper, because I've seen some of the strippers in the Jamaican market, and fuck her, I'm looking forward to it.

Long weekend, resort, friends and family, stripper, September, bring it on.

You need a nice long nap. And radio silence.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Oh. And after bathing and feeding and giving her the usual breathing treatment, Grace she threw up and I had to change her bedding.

I did, however, make adorable little lanterns out of tangerine peals that the kids love.

I know I could get a full night sleep if I took an Ambien, but I'm scared the only way I CAN get a full night's sleep is an Ambien and I'd like to get myself to sleep without the meds.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

At least February's almost over?

I went to a burlesque show! It was OK -- would have been better if I could see anyone's lower body, probably... Bad stage set-up. At least the hostess was hilarious! It was two troupes, one of women and one of men! Most of the guys were semi-sheepish. Then there was one drag queen, who totally mopped the floor with everyone. I mean, seriously.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Kat,

at this pont, maybe you need to sleep for your own health and sanity? You know what's best, but getting proper sleep is very important.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh Kat, I hate those ragey nights. Sending you vibes for a good night's sleep.

I am considering adding GABA to my night routine on those nights when I can't stop perseverating on something, but not sure. The best article I read on the subject said GABA probably doesn't pass the brain-blood barrier and so any relaxing effect is mostly placebo. But it seems it does relax the body, so I'm thinking that might be enough. Relax my body and my brain should follow, right?

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Is this the right version of the Evanesence song?

Because I'm ripping it now if it is and I can send it.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Sarameg, the Tom Bihn Aeronaut is highly recommended by light travel fetishists. I recommend onebag.com or [link]

Bob and I used an Aeronaut each as our sole bag during 3 weeks in Thailand, for what it's worth. It's expensive, though, and the extra strap is also a must. [link]

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think that's the right version. Anyway, insent to ita and Jilli.

That's about the size of my old duffly thing. Which wasn't that much! Drives me nuts I can't find its kind anymore. It was the standard carryon in, oh, 1990? 1985? Held SO MUCH, yet compact.
