May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

OMG, the WIND. Ahrg. But an artist at the market showed me her designs for silver dogwoods and is gonna make me a pin for my mom! It was worth dodging tents and other airborne debris (well, and for the ham and cheddar biscuit and rosemary panini roll and spinach and empanadas and apples and....)

The dog was reclaimed by the original owners last night. They have decided that they do not want to give her up. Not sure how they will manage, but that is not my decision to make or live with.

She is a good dog, but I am happy to be just back to 2 cats.

Slept in and now have 2 hours before we need to leave for the first soccer game of the season. Beautiful sunny outside thus far, will be in the 50s and 60s.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

On the bus to Williamsburg for my last photography class.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Blargh. I have some kind of cold and feel like I was kicked in the head by a horse. I've been trying to put together next week's dinner menu and I've gotten as far as writing down the days of the week. That was 45 minutes ago.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda has a playdate with EM later today and is beside herself with bustling excitement as she tries to round up all her favorite dress-up clothes and shoes (the ones we don't let her wear out), her favorite books and videos and her shrinky dinks. EM has promised to knit a small flying carpet for her Jasmine and Alladin dolls, so there will probably be knitting as well.

Emmett is sleeping in for the first time this week, despite that his school has had vacation. But he spent the whole week training and doing baseball practice.

not your mom's socks.

{{Burrell}}

Holy cow a snowstorm blew through here in about 20 minutes, blizzarded, and blew away. Now it's warm enough that steam is rising from all surfaces. Craziness. Beautiful, though.

There was a woeful lack of coffee in the house this morning.
