Xander: Look who's got a bad case of Dark Prince envy. Dracula: Leave us. Xander: No, we're not going to "Leabbb you." And where'd you get that accent, Sesame Street? "One, Two, Three - three victims! Maw ha ha!"

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So sorry, Burrell. And yay photography, Tom!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Blargh. I have some kind of cold and feel like I was kicked in the head by a horse. I've been trying to put together next week's dinner menu and I've gotten as far as writing down the days of the week. That was 45 minutes ago.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am so sorry Burrell, I hope your next days together are peaceful and calm.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Matilda has a playdate with EM later today and is beside herself with bustling excitement as she tries to round up all her favorite dress-up clothes and shoes (the ones we don't let her wear out), her favorite books and videos and her shrinky dinks. EM has promised to knit a small flying carpet for her Jasmine and Alladin dolls, so there will probably be knitting as well.

Emmett is sleeping in for the first time this week, despite that his school has had vacation. But he spent the whole week training and doing baseball practice.

not your mom's socks.

{{Burrell}}

Holy cow a snowstorm blew through here in about 20 minutes, blizzarded, and blew away. Now it's warm enough that steam is rising from all surfaces. Craziness. Beautiful, though.

There was a woeful lack of coffee in the house this morning.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I am so sorry, Burrell. I hope the next few days are as peaceful and filled with kitty love as possible.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

All my sympathies, Burrell. I'm glad you had such a long, loving time with her.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

She lived long as was well loved, Burrell. I'm sad that you have to say goodbye to her.

Didn't the maker of that actually send one to Vicki Vantoch?

No, that never happened.

Whoa, I just realised I had extensive dreams about hanging out with Britney Spears, except she was, well, not much like the current public persona of Britney. She was geeky and witty and a different kind of beautiful, and just amazing to hang out with, and we kept going "Can you imagine this was the same barefoot at the gas station woman?"

Uh, no, because you completely reinvented her.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Huh. I had an extensive dream about sampling cookies test baked for a new bakery. It is extrapolated from the coffeeshop opening, but it was awfully fun to eat all those cookies last night and not have calories to show for it this morning.
