Dang, I was going to suggest Anika Noni Rose, who trained at San Francisco's ACT, has plenty of classics experience on stage, and did a lovely job breezily snarking the shit out of a highborn fellow who thought much too well of himself in The Princess and the Frog, but she turns 40 this year.
She played a 15-year-old in "Caroline, or Change," and that was relatively recently.
Sue, Aisha is who the commenter suggested, and Gabrielle was my reaction!
And, damn. I went looking for Gina Torres info out of idle curiosity (she's 42! holy crap!) and good God, is she made out of 100% awesome. I never knew that she was a mezzo soprano trained in opera and jazz vocals, and that she and Laurence Fishburne got married at the Cloisters. How can one person contain that much spectacular?
Timelies all!
It was in the 60s again today. The hyacinths have been sending shoots up for a while, but I haven't seen and flowers yet.
Awesome dog and license plate: One Ear Up
Jeez. I just did my timecard for this week, and my weekly report, since tomorrow's my day off. I have nineteen and a half hours left on my task order, and they still don't have a contract in place.
I suspect I'm going to be out of the office after noon on Wednesday...
I nominate this dude for Dad of the Year - [link] Relatedly, I now want crazy-colored hair.
Ah! So awesome, that dad.
Aw, I like that dad way better than the dad who shot his daughter's laptop.
