Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

meara, may you take inspiration from the person in this post. The Big Clean plan is in an earlier post, linked there, too.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I wonder if the modern definition of 'hooker' evolved from #3....

Actually stems from a Civil War general whose camps were somewhat notorious.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Aussie woman scammed scamming Nigerians.

My brain isn't working. At first, I thought she was scammed while scamming Nigerians.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Actually stems from a Civil War general whose camps were somewhat notorious.

I wonder if that's the same General Hooker who has an entrance to the MA State House called...The General Hooker Entrance.

Leading to the question, is there a Specific Hooker Entrance?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Steph, it makes me happy to see you post every day about the happiness you get from turkey and avocado. It's a nice reminder to take one's pleasure from the things one does every day.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I have similar feelings for Greek yogurt with homemade granola mixed in.

I have similar feelings about Greek yogurt as well. Come to think of it, I have similar feelings about turkey and avocado.

But my deepest culinary love affair is with coffee.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So, no one tells me today is when my father is having the cataract surgery. They send me a text telling me he's had the surgery, and one-eyed-Jack photographs (who is that, BTW?), but that's how my family rolls.

I'm not ready to deal yet. In fact, I took a sick morning off work, and should be resting more.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Hmm, I just had a good meeting on a potential long-term project that will have very high visibility and might involve a four-way partnership. Go me.

And then I came back to my desk and applied for the job that my retiring coworker left open. Given the bullshit with getting hired back into my own job, I'm not sanguine, but this is a higher grade, so there may be fewer veterans on the short list. We'll see.

I put my boss down as a reference: he may be surprised by that, but he can't think I wouldn't apply, I hope.

Now I'm beginning to worry that my job will be posted while I'm in Spain. Argh.
