"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I just decluttered my office (for values of declutter that include shoving stuff in a box, but at least now it's ready for 15 minute bouts of sorting) and it already looks so much better it makes me smile every time I walk in there. And I'm walking in there a bunch, because decluttering rewarded me with a bag of sour gummies, which I accept as the Universe's cookies, so I keep going in there to grab a few. I should probably just cook dinner, huh?

Because books.

I would actually like a puppy more than a kitten to play with, but not to housebreak because I have zero energy for that right now. Plus a cat who's peeing in the house neurotically already.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Oh, I fully expected to be sore and tired. I did not expect my right knee to simply say, "No. No more stairs."

Oh, speaking of peeing neurotically, the Biscuit's issues cleared right up, suspiciously after going to the vet but before the antibios probably had time to kick in. I dunno, maybe he just likes the vet? But I'm happy the problem seems to be solved, and the Biscuit is happy because he weighed in a little low and is therefore getting extra food and treats.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I would actually like a puppy

There is the cutest puppy at my gas station/corner store. He looks like a brown husky (has blue eyes and husky pattern, but I have never seen a brown one.)

aurelia, I feel for your knees. And you.

But I'm happy the problem seems to be solved

That's good! I think we're looking at Feliway and a new rug in the back room since Nature's Miracle isn't doing the trick, and probably not dog-sitting for my parents anymore, since that seems to be the root of the problem.

It's sad-making because we really wanted to get a dog, and I don't think Switch is going to go for it. Also, I can't go for it if he's going to be terrorized *and* marking all over the house if we do.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I spent a good chunk of the afternoon dithering about what to do about my cat's food, since the vet is on vacation this week, so I couldn't get any actual advice. He's still puking up the prescription food occasionally, but no worse than the other, so I think I'm going to keep him on it for six months (barring any real indications to the contrary), and THEN bring him back in for weighing and bloodwork and whatnot. Poor boo.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Pictures that perfectly capture the 90s.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, the '90s. I love you so.

I feel like I missed the '90's. Possibly because for 4 years I worked 40 hours a week and went to college full time and did theatre, followed by 2 years of theatre with a crazy woman and a second job, from which I got fired, had a nervous breakdown, and moved home with my mom, working retail and theatre to make $10K a year.
