Natter 69: Practically names itself.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Yeah, those two elements are big factors for me. It's really nice to be able to launder in cold when I'm low on propane, and hang the clothes out after. And being in Arizona, of course, the less water I use, the better.
But I've been pretty dang happy with the soapnuts, too, although I generally use warm with them.
Man, y'all are very efficient! I spent the morning at my folks' place, straightened up a bit, fed them lunch, went to TJ's, came home, and took a nap. Then I walked the dog.
Now I really need to disassemble the trap on my bathroom sink before I go to the theater later. Bah.
Graded a few papers! I think we might be going to the pool next.
I hate having to leave the door open to (somewhat) avoid the smell. And both washer and dryer take so freaking long to do a load. Not a fan of the HE.
Can you buy Kindle books (from the Kindle) when you're outside a north American network?
Yep! Did it from the beach last year in Mexico! May do it again!
ita, I think it depends on what country you're in, who Amazon has an agreement with.
I wanna go hang at Liese's for a weekend and shoot stuff and enjoy the desert!!
ION, before I go make myself presentable for public viewing (i.e., putting on pants and slapping on some makeup) before I head to a friend's birthday gathering, I just bought a Wolverine costume for M for Purim.
I am so petty. His mom was like "If you wanna be Wolverine for Purim, your dad will have to buy it for you."
FUCK YOU, DONE! You're lucky I can't afford REAL retractable claws, woman!!
And he and his stepdad are watching The Hulk movie tonight, so screw your bitching about "No PG-13 movies" chick -- we are having an X-Men and Marvel superhero movie FESTIVAL this summer, and you can SUCK IT. And yes, M, you CAN watch the Avengers this summer. BOO-YAH.
I try not to be petty, but he'll be 10 in two months! SUPERHEROES ARE A GO, and I embrace my superhero-inspired pettiness!
Now Imma go curl my hair.

Hm. My HE washer and dryer are distinctly quicker than my old regular ones. I don't know for sure if I HAVE to leave the lid up on the washer to avoid the smell, I just do. I can close the doors to the laundry room, er, closet, so the cats can't jump into the washer, which is my main concern. Of course, Leo already did jump into the washer, and jumped right back out, so I really shouldn't worry about it.

Remind me not to piss off Liese or Erin!
I went to Chewbacchus. It was fun! They were so grateful to have people watching. I watched it twice. Favorite floats were a Bantha built on a bike frame ridden by a Jawa, and Torchwood NOLA pushing an impounded TARDIS. No Captain Jack, though. Glad I braved the rain and cold for it.
Now I'm debating going to run the errands that I didn't run earlier... if I don't, I will not be able to do them tomorrow due to a marathon day of parades.
Oh, and my parents' HE toploader w/out agitator sounds charmingly like the TARDIS.
Jesse, I always wanted those drying racks you pull down from the ceiling, like in Victorian kitchens. Not that our current ceiling is anywhere near high enough, but still.
My neighbor has this one from IKEA, and it's great.
I have one too, but it's still in the box because I didn't realize when I bought it that my bathroom has a tiled ceiling. So I'm saving it for when we move in a couple years.
I've been seeing ads for washing machine cleaner, which sounds so crazy to me, but apparently some people need it?
I use Bac-out because I cloth diaper and live in a very small apartment. If I were in a house and the washer were in the basement, I probably wouldn't bother.
When you're not on wi fi, what network does it use?
Whoever AT&T's local partner is, I think. And not all Kindles will work internationally - the first 2 generations were on Sprint, so no GSM.
Oh, balls. I took the trap off my sink, and that's not where the blockage is. I couldn't get the snake very far in, either.
So I went down into the crawlspace and it doesn't look good: the drain pipe has a bunch of dried hair and gunk around the outside at one of the joins. Damn it.
So I guess I will be calling a plumber on Monday. YIKES. Home ownership: so much fun!
