It's official: Nevada the first state to allow self-driving cars
It's just for testing now, and two humans are required to be in a self-driving car at all times. But that may change:
Cars also have to be equipped with data collectors (like an airplane black box), and will have red license plates. If the cars are approved for public the cars will have green license plates (regular Nevada license plates are grayish-blue). If cars are approved, a person can operate the vehicle "without being physically present," according to one provision. But the person operating the vehicle — present or not — will be held responsible for what the car does.
Also, self-driving cars will have their own drivers licenses.

Unfortunately, it's A Handmaid's Tale.

What good is it if you can't send it out to the store for milk on its own?
Jessica is making me cry.
Not that she's wrong.
Thank you, msbelle! Those look useful.
Right now he has a special journal at school for writing in when he's upset. He showed it to me. Mostly it was drawings of happy faces and Star Wars characters, which tells me that he likes the journal, but it mostly helps by letting him refocus on something else.
God, the whole political situation is just making me want to hide in the woods for the next ten months. Give me books, tea, and chocolate, and I'll be fine while the country goes to hell.
Speaking of which, Genghis Khan outpolls Romney:

I hope Rick Santorum develops a medical condition for which the only treatment is progesterone supplements. And I hope his insurance won't cover it.
This.

And also, this.
Burrell, I'm sorry about the worrisome bully stuff. Parenting is even harder I think when your kid is the bully as when s/he's the one being bullied, because the responsibility for the bullied falls on your child and you. May msbelle's books be of help.
Sorry for the spam, folks. Should be cleared up now. Let me know if it happens again.
Also? I thought Farscape DRDs, too.
I would not mind having a self-driving car. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to agree to waiver into order to turn off the self-driving feature.
I have to admit I haven't been paying a lot of attention to politics lately, but I'm having a hard time seeing Obama losing unless the economy reverses course and nosedives. Unfortunately, I like Obama the candidate a whole lot better than Obama the president.
mood journals have never work for mac for actually expressing feeling of any upsetting situation. He would rather walk across broken glass on his lips than write.
A huge step for us was getting him to identify what is making him angry: teasing?, not getting his way?, being reprimanded?, the whole day? Because for a long time, he couldn't even do that and his mad was just at everything.

I've been in both positions now, and yeah, parent of the bully is hard. Because he doesn't yet see how his actions affect other people and their perceptions of him. I think he just gets overwhelmed by his feelings, but... grabbing people by the neck is just NOT OKAY.

Yeah, that makes sense. That's something concrete we can work on.
Antibiotics won’t cure sinus infections
The antibiotics that doctors prescribe for sinus infections do not reduce symptoms any better than a placebo.
