Illyria: We cling to what is gone. Is there anything in this life but grief? Wesley: There's love. There's hope...for some. There's hope that you'll find something worthy...that your life will lead you to some joy...that after everything...you can still be surprised. Illyria: Is that enough? Is that enough to live on?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Hating Richard Chamberlain is totally rational.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

He's been great on "leverage", but that's all I got.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

And (generally) the same folks who rant about judicial activists overriding the will of the people are perfectly happy with the Supreme Court striking down gun-control laws...

Or deciding the next President of the United States (Gore v. Bush, 2000).

It isn't activism unless you're against the core proposition. If you're for it, then it's reasoned judicial interpretation.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So, I guess the person who always gives my email address for everything is conservative. I just got a fundraising email with the following postscript:

P.S. Funded by a gang of gay billionaires, Obama's base is marching across the country, "occupying" major cities and shredding the historic definition of marriage as one man and one woman. They are everywhere, in every Christian community, from North Carolina to Utah. They already occupy Washington, D.C. Now, the anti-family lobby is salivating at the prospect for Obama's second-term; they are already drawing up plans to complete the deconstruction of our Judeo-Christian values which have formed the cornerstone of civilization.

Good times.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

A gang of gay billionaires?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

A gang of gay billionaires?

They roam around tagging bridge overpasses with rainbow-colored bags of money.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

A gang of gay billionaires?

I bet they have awesome parties.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just said to my coworker, who is there besides Tim Gill? She said David Geffen? So now we're trying to come up with the list...

Perhaps they think all liberal billionaires are secretly gay?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

One of the Forbeses? Or was that the really old one, and did he finally die? Did a new gay billionaire arise from his ashes?
