No. You're missing the point. The design of the thing is functional. The plan is not to shoot you. The plan is to get the girl. If there's no girl, then the plan, well, is like the room.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm so suggestible. All this talk of dogs needing walks led me to take Walter for one, and the freaking Februany earworm got us to Subway.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ooh. I want a red velvet cupcake.

I just made myself eat green beans because I'd only eaten white pasta with yogurt today, a recipe for certain disaster. But it wasn't as good as a red velvet cupcake.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Ha! I am equally suggestible, but I thankfully have no outlet.

Mr Peabody won't stay anywhere I'm not, except the bed and outside. He has no particular interest in food, so for him to eat at all, the food has to be near me. This is why I have dog food in my office.

Because books.

Switch has a UTI right now, and there's so much blood in his urine it's a little freaky. We're starting wet food today.

Any mathy types want to take a crack at tripling this recipe? The cookies look delicious, but I didn't realize the recipe didn't even make a dozen. Totally not worth the effort for less than twelve cookies, when cookies go here like they're made of crack.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Any mathy types want to take a crack at tripling this recipe?

Nope, but I'll quadruple it. (the 1/2 egg is a pain in the ass, and you know you want a dozen more cookies)

1 cup margarine
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
2 1/4 cups tablespoon oats
1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1/2 cup peanut butter chips
1/2 cup tablespoons butterscotch chips

I'll even bet actual money that's what the recipe was to start with

Go, Team Amy! I'm glad we have a mathy type, because I would have effed that up for sure. Thank you!

And yes, a dozen more cookies is always okay with me.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, so in today's edition of Buffistas make all my decisions for me, which of these vacation rentals should I go with?

There's the standalone casita (like a cabin rental, but Santa Fe style) which is super cute, private including an enclosed courtyard for the dog, walkable with a little effort to both the Railyard (farmers market) and the Plaza (galleries, museums). But its owner is in CA and there's no pool or hot tub, and only a queen bed.

Or there's this condo which is much bigger and probably nicer, but is a condo, so less private and no place to let the dog run around, limiting what we can do to a certain extent. But there's a (shared) indoor pool and hot tub. It's also walkable from the other direction, at least to the Plaza, but it's on a suspiciously named Hillside Park, which means that it might be a slightly more difficult walk. It's probably not walkable to the Railyard, but it is also closer to the artists' Canyon road.

The condo was much more expensive but they're running a winter sale, plus she said she'd waive the pet fees and...oh, now that I look at it, that quote is wrong. She's only got me down for four days; the tax is much higher than I'd calculated, so the quote is the same as for five days at the casita. Huh.

Because books.

I really like the casita. But I always go for privacy when I can.

Me too. I do love a patio.
