while their other daughter is named Vash, which is honey in Hebrew.
That would be Dvash, actually, not Vash.
Not at all - it makes all those mistranslated Chinese tattoos seem far less embarrassing.
Oh! Do you know bad Hebrew Tattoos? [link]
Edit: Oh, posting something like that after sad news. Sorry. I left the page open for too long.
It's always best to make sure you know what someone's writing when it's a language - and characters - you don't know. Someone I knew in college told of his mother redecorating their living room. Her prize ornaments were a pair of lamps with silk shades and Chinese characters on them. At least they were her favorites until someone who read Chinese came to visit. The lovely (and expensive) shades read "arrogant rich".
And I just came across this page that shows people have trouble with tattoos in languages they
do
speak, as well. [link]
I shouldn't be amused that apparently my mother is lying to my sister and threatening to seek assistance in escaping from her nagging. But I am.
I really really tried to make it out of the house this morning. But I feel like crap still. Working from home in the morning, and then going in for a vendor visit in the afternoon. I hope. I...just feel disgusting.
Up Helly Aa! Vikings burning things! That may or may not belong to them!

Anybody going to watch Smash? Got a rave review in the Chron.
The pilot was kind of baffling, but DH has seen the first few eps and he really liked it.
(Not that the pilot wasn't good, I just had no idea how they would turn it into an ongoing series.)
