Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I had pertussis a few years ago, and I'm nearly certain that I caught it from the middle school kids at the summer program where I was working.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Ginger, I also got what immunities I have the old-fashioned way. I know I was horribly sick with measles - according to my mother, they were afraid I'd suffer some permanent damage from the fever. I vaguely remember being inside (during a Louisville summer, before we had AC) and not being allowed out. And chicken pox and mumps ... no fun, but we generally accepted that you'd get them when you were young, recover, and go on with your life. I also remember getting polio and smallpox vaccinations (which really were no fun, but still better than the alternative).

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I remember the hallucinations when I had measles, and I knew I was pretty sick, because my dad taught me to play checkers and sat with me for hours, something he never did, before or since.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Woke up with a sore shoulder and feeling tired. Don't know why in either case. It's Monday, I guess that's reason enough.

It is, Kat!

I had chickenpox, but nothing else, and god forbid I try to get records from my pediatrician--I have no idea who they were, I rarely went to the doctor!

Swouncing

Poking head (as I dislike doing, while ignoring ongoing conversations, alas) because, according to the Buffista Calendar, today is Anne W's birthday.

Happy birthday, Anne! With lots of wishes for a great day and a wonderful year!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

First World Cat Problems. At last, there's someone out there who understands the horrible tragedy that Mycroft lives every day.
