Thrive to spite them

Maybe I should try going gluten free for awhile. I don't really have any of the symptoms of celiac disease but I guess it wouldn't hurt to do an elimination diet and see what happens.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

You know what I hate. I hate people who use their outlook calendar, but don't want you to send a meeting request, they want you to 'work with their secretary to find a time'. I don't mind making meetings for my boss, and Outlook has it set up so that your secretary can say "yes" on your behalf, but can't I just send the request instead of doing this back and forth dance.

But how will you know how important they are?

Ha! My boss is actually the more important one!

I actually think it might be technological ineptitude on the part of the secretary or the person in this case.

Honestly, if you don't have symptoms, it probably won't do anything, and it is a pain in the damn ass. I feel better and it's worth it because of that, but I had definite symptoms. And it's still a pain in the damn ass. In the damn hell ass (TM Bart Simpson).

I just need to cut out the processed foods.

I never signed up for direct deposit when I was just seasonal temp. So I signed up, and it was kinda confusing doing it online but I thought I did it right. Only I didn't because there was a deposit of 0 dollars. And now I have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to find out if a paper check was sent and try and fix the problem tomorrow.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Art-knowing people: Is this an Aubrey Beardsley?

It's not. It's an illustration from the Art Nouveau era, though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. We just had our monthly all-hands IT meeting, and I got two shout-outs, one for handling the consulting visit last month well, and another for one of the projects that's been giving the most grief and I've been feeling highly useless on.

I'm pretty verklempt. Also, I won two movie tickets--they put the shout-out winners into a raffle, and I was one of four who got swag. Not including the swag I got for contributing to the meeting discussion. I also now have a cute rainbow set of mini-highlighters.

I...I really needed that. Not the highlighters so much as the validation, but the highlighters are cool too.

Management was deliberate to point out, also, that we have continual casual (well, except for the two visits next week that mean suit and tie equivalents) because we asked for it. And they're listening.

Huh. Weird.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want to run away to somewhere warm, with a beach.

Or at least go get something new and exciting for lunch.

I won't do either, but I want to.
