Xander: I do have Spaghetti-os. Set 'em on top of the dryer and you're a fluff cycle away from lukewarm goodness. Riley: I, uh, had dryer-food for lunch.

Thrive to spite them

I just need to cut out the processed foods.

I never signed up for direct deposit when I was just seasonal temp. So I signed up, and it was kinda confusing doing it online but I thought I did it right. Only I didn't because there was a deposit of 0 dollars. And now I have to wait until tomorrow afternoon to find out if a paper check was sent and try and fix the problem tomorrow.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Art-knowing people: Is this an Aubrey Beardsley?

It's not. It's an illustration from the Art Nouveau era, though.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Wow. We just had our monthly all-hands IT meeting, and I got two shout-outs, one for handling the consulting visit last month well, and another for one of the projects that's been giving the most grief and I've been feeling highly useless on.

I'm pretty verklempt. Also, I won two movie tickets--they put the shout-out winners into a raffle, and I was one of four who got swag. Not including the swag I got for contributing to the meeting discussion. I also now have a cute rainbow set of mini-highlighters.

I...I really needed that. Not the highlighters so much as the validation, but the highlighters are cool too.

Management was deliberate to point out, also, that we have continual casual (well, except for the two visits next week that mean suit and tie equivalents) because we asked for it. And they're listening.

Huh. Weird.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I want to run away to somewhere warm, with a beach.

Or at least go get something new and exciting for lunch.

I won't do either, but I want to.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yay ita! Again, I say my dream tech industry job includes you as my PM.

So I was a complete moron over the weekend, and had sushi with soy sauce and tempura, both of which have gluten. I figured the tiny amounts would be fine. Ha, not when combined with several meals that had gluten-hiding Worcestershire sauce in them. My neck broke out in welts last night, and it's still red and irritated today.

Validation is nice.
