Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Exactly! And less paperwork in doing expense reports (the only time I've ever done them was to get reimbursed when they flew me out for an interview and moving costs. Which was just gas.) I'm a little at sea, but luckily my supervisor and supervisor's supervisor are also going.

To freak everyone out: not taking a cellphone. I'll have my computer and iTouch (though if I get to stay the last weekend, might send laptop home with a coworker. I have a security cable I will take, but still) if I want to feel all modern. But I'm perfectly content (in fact, preferably content) to travel old-school.

Shit, I need to get a laptop bag. In addition to replacement luggage and a working camera.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Woo hoo, sarameg! That is fantastic.

I'll keep expecting to have it cancelled until the reservations are made. It's how I operate.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

GO TO SPAIN!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yay, Spain! sarameg, I hope you have a wonderful time.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

I have laptop bags/sleeves you can borrow. Don't waste the money.

You can also borrow my unlocked cell phone if you want the convenience of a phone. All you'd have to do is buy a local sim card and put some money on it.

You're going to Spain!

I'll be spending something like 80 hours working and being "on." But maybe I can squeak out a waking 48 having fun.

So not budgeted for any playtime, but I can make that up.

Aw, thank you! For both offers. I can probably get work to purchase the laptop bag. Which I'd prefer, because that's the machine I need it for, and it'd be nice to have for that purpose anyway. I need to talk to my friend in purchasing. Also, get them to get the right power cord/adaptor for the power supply. On site, they'll have them available, but I don't think they'll let us take them back to the hotel with us.

And I really have no need for a cell. I mean, given how much I use mine? Hah. If I needed to connect with friends over there, would be one thing. But I'll be staying in the same hotel as the rest of my need-to-talk-to party, and we'll be carpooling out to the site together, so. And with the laptop, have skype.

eta: I have mad rushes of planning followed by lulls of ok, whatever.
